PROJECT DESCRIPTION:  The new 2 story 22,372 square foot Central Fire Station is located within downtown Temple and will replace the existing central station down the street. The character design is based on an old Temple Fire Station and picks up on surrounding historic building elements. The station is designed with 4 drive through double deep bays with sleeping for 14 fire fighters. All amenities for a fire station is included on the first floor such as the dayroom, watch, and fitness room. Also, included is an exam room off of the lobby. Several training elements were designed in the apparatus bay and off of the second floor patio. The second floor houses the administration offices, training room and special projects library. Old artifacts from years past were identified and located in special locations within the lobby and in landscaped areas.
