COMPLETION DATE: 2007

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:  Wiginton Hooker Jeffry Architects conducted a County Government Needs Assessment for Brazos County. It was recognized from the beginning that the first priority for new facilities was going to be the relocation of the Sheriff’s Office out of the existing Courthouse. Consequently, the Planning team expedited the Programming and Planning process for the Sheriff’s Department to allow for budgeting and site acquisition prior to completion of the entire study. The new Sheriff’s Headquarters Facility, a 34,000 square-feet, two-story facility, was completed in 2007. The County purchased a 9-acre site connecting their existing adult jail and juvenile services center into one, contiguous site. Office space is provided for the Administration area, Civil Processing, Records, Training, Patrol and Criminal Investigation.
