PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Project included a Needs assessment, Programming, and Design for a new Police Station, and began Construction in Spring of 2006. The City of Leander is a rapidly growing community located just northwest of the Austin city limits. Wiginton Hooker Jeffry Architects worked closely with City staff to determine the present and future space needs of the Police Department. These needs were translated into a design to retro-fit an abandoned two-story office building purchased by the City for the police function. Patrol, C.I.D., fitness, and records are located on the first floor along with a new public entry. Administration and future expansion are located on the second floor.
